Red Volcano

These large medical lamps are now becomming very hard to find, small ones are more common and I found this one at a market in France. I added circular swirls to the outside and added a metal cone which I painted red to break up the expanse of metal on the back and the base. I also ran an abstract down the leg to, again, break up the amounts of bare metal and finished with a huge classic bulb which, in my opinion, really compliments the overall look of the piece. I also masked the edge of the shade inside to create a frame around the abstract.
